The most mouth-watering annual food festival has returned to Bangkok metropolis! Foodies will cheer as Central Bangkok launches its world-class food festival with five different themes to be held at CentralWorld, Central Chidlom and Central Embassy. The themed events will take place from now until the end of July, and each will offer a feast of delectable bites not to be missed.
Krungthep Thara at CentralWorld (29 June – 30 July 2017)
Krungthep Thara is the event for you if you are a big fan of Thai street food. With it, Central Bangkok brings together all the best, ever-popular dishes from communities that sit on both riverside banks of the Chaophraya River. The food displays are exciting, starting with the rich stuffed breads from Yaowaraj, Nai Yong’s curry, the famous chicken noodles from Suan Mali by Jeh Keng and Jeh Ngim, and endless appetizing dishes from over 300 restaurants from the five communities of Phra Arthit, Wang Lang, Ratchinee, Ratchawong and Sipraya-Klong San.
Central Food Hall World Gastronomy at Eden Zone 1, CentralWorld (3 – 9 July 2017)
A showcase of premium world-class food products and desserts is going to take place at CentralWorld, along with exclusive charitable cooking classes! The showcase includes succulent seafood from Thammachart Seafood, chewy Lobster Pop, new snack foods such as Sriracha Popcorn plus baked vegetable crisps, healthy mocktails made with fresh fruit by Harvest Juice, and marble-pattern ice cream by ICEDEA. In addition, there is a Zone Experiential Market to encourage creative cooking, where you will be able to custom design a chocolate with Chocolab by So Sofitel Bangkok… or create a new, luscious dessert with Cha Tra Meu. The launch of Cha Tra Meu’s special flavour soft-serve ice creams will also take place here.
The World on a Plate at Central Embassy
A food exhibition with the theme: ‘Eating is a big thing’ will take place on the 5th floor of Central Embassy. Visitors will be taken through the recipes and techniques of international cuisine, and be able to sample stellar dishes from 10 renowned restaurants. Each weekend, TV stars will appear beside well-known chefs to cook for visitors and raise funds for the Tiang Chirathiwat Foundation, to help the underprivileged. Do look your best when you go, as you may become the subject for one of the guest photographers who will be roving around!
The Full Flavours of Thailand 2 at Eathai, Central Embassy (21 – 31 July 2017)
The original flavours of the North, Central, North-eastern and Southern regions of Thailand will be served in the heart of the metropolis at Eathai, on the LG floor of Central Embassy. Delicacies will include Lab Khua (spicy salad), Hed Pho (crunchy mushrooms) and Tum Khanun (jackfruit salad) from the famous Pata Chiang Mai restaurant, plus spicy Southern dishes from Na Chalong Eatery. In addition to sampling these delicacies you and your family will be able to enjoy regional cultural shows, workshops for children, daily Thai cooking classes, special offers and local products for sale.
A World of Desserts at FoodLoft, Central Chidlom (21 – 31 July 2017)
It’s an even more wonderful world with sweetness in it! A pleasing variety of international desserts will be on show to delight the eyes and taste-buds of those with a sweet tooth. The list includes translucent mochi from Kyo Roll En, lava buns from Salapao Shanghai, English puddings and tarts from Yellow Spoon plus many more. Fun activities will be hosted throughout the period.
