If you’re looking for the traditional tropical island getaway, you had better set up camp down on Lipa Noi where the secluded Nikki Beach Resort is located. At first glance you could be forgiven for thinking that staying here would be a standard affair, but you soon realise you’re in for an entirely different treat.
The resort’s expansive grounds consist of 48 different rooms – all of which are kitted out with stunning furniture and interior design – four swimming pools, a massage and relaxation area, a restaurant, a bar, a café and a gym. The resort also houses two villa-style apartments which have their very own pools and a view of the ocean.
For breakfast, Nikki Beach Resort lays on quite a varied spread, including everything from continental and Thai cuisines to cake and cooked-to-order eggs. For all meals, I opted to stick around the resort just a touch longer to fill up on a selection of exceptional dishes, cooked to perfection by the head chef. Presented with the impressive-looking Panaeng Tiger Prawns and Sexy Salad, I was blown away, not just by the presentation but by the sublime taste.
But that’s only to be enjoyed if you haven’t totally filled up on Saturday’s big poolside BBQ bash. Meat is obviously the focus here – pulled pork and Chiang Mai sausages steal the show while other big winners included the four cheese ravioli and a selection of gourmet desserts that are to die for.
WHY I’D RETURN
Food, food, food – the food would be enough to bring me back time and again. Not to mention the fact that the staff did everything in their power to make sure you feel like an important guest. Factor in that the resort really is divine and the rooms are incredible and you’ll never want to leave.
