CONGENIAL PLATFORM

Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa elegantly sits on the tranquil beach of Pattaya, as the latest oasis for city dwellers to escape to the utmost utopia.

SETTING THE SCENE
“Welcome to the bright side of Pattaya,” the GM welcomed me to Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa – the fourth Renaissance brand property in Thailand. I had to utterly agree, as the bright vibes really tickled me at first sight. The resort is supremely sat in the Na Jomtien district of Pattaya, far enough from the buzz of the city, yet close enough for all the fun happenings. Modern aesthetics approached me from the first steps in the buoyant and tasteful lobby that reveals the turquoise sea on the far horizon. The modish design was impressive, with the use of wood and other traditional and sea elements to adorn the space very well.

GETTING COMFORTABLE
Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa features altogether 257 guest rooms in different categories to suit all guests’ demands. While the Family Suite Pool Access and Family Suite gain popularity amongst family travellers, the Beachfront Pool Villa, the Pool Villa, as well as the One Bedroom Suite Sea View are so ideal for lovebirds or honeymooners. There are also the Deluxe Pool Access, Deluxe Balcony Sea View, Deluxe Balcony and Deluxe rooms as the alternatives to a five-star stay. I can attest that even the Deluxe room is super spacious and armed with deluxe amenities that one could not ask for more. The massive windows in each room welcome natural light to the
maximum, as well as allowing me to soak in the panoramic views towards the ocean and the horizon, both at sunrise and sunset. For gadget-savvy travellers, there are more than enough sockets for you to charge everything in your room. Sojourning at Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa means you get to relax in the two immense outdoor pools with kids’ play area, as well as lying on the sandy beach or jumping into the warm sea. The gym is another magnetic spot to hit, as it is very well equipped with new machines plus the view towards the sea.

DINING OPTIONS
The lustrous all-day dining 609 Kitchen has almost everything under the gourmet sky and they are all in top form! While the Asian dishes are succulent and cover all the favourite menus, the Western flairs are second to none. We especially loved the thin crust, freshly baked pizza that gave an authentic Italian touch. Meat-lovers would fancy the Pebbles Bar and Grill, where fine cuts are served together with handcrafted cocktails while imbuing the panoramic view towards the horizon. Here, they put the utmost effort to grill your choice of meat to perfection with the use of volcanic rocks that commemorate a delectable aroma. Last but not least, please do ask for a dessert table to wrap up your meal. It is a phenomenon of its genre!

WHY I’D RETURN
Only a mere two hours from Bangkok, Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa is an ideal and easy escape to inhale fresh air and give your life the break it needs. Parents would be delighted to know that the kids’ club here is massive and very well equipped with both indoor and outdoor areas, while the staff members are very eager to keep the youngsters entertained. A carefree stay is guaranteed here for each and every one. In addition, the resort is also positioned as MICE friendly, as it could cater for meetings and events on a diverse scale. All the function rooms are equipped with state-of-the-art technology, cutting-edge audiovisuals, and event planning services. Thus, Renaissance Pattaya Resort & Spa is truly a heaven for all on the Pattaya coast.

ONE OR TWO QUIBBLES…
Maybe it was my noisy neighbours, the in-room acoustics, or simply because my designated room could be used as connecting rooms that I think I could overhear conversations from the other side of the wall intermittently. Thanks to the super comfy bed though, I managed to fall asleep soon after my head hit the pillow.
