Located on the western shore of Royal Lake, Chatrium Hotel Royal Lake Yangon hosts spectacular views of the Kandawgyi Lake and Nature Park, as well as magnificent glimpses of Shwedagon Pagoda. Staying here allowed me not only to indulge myself with a sumptuous break, but also to discover new local experiences so easily.
A sense of modern grandeur attacked me once I stepped into the hotel lobby. Then, some touches of oriental heritage could be felt. So ‘luxury and uniqueness’ became my description for this place.
300 guestrooms including 36 divine suites are spaciously designed and furnished to reflect local culture. Despite their nostalgic decoration, all rooms are equipped with a range of deluxe amenities and have spacious bathrooms.
So many facilities are offered: a tropically-inspired swimming pool, a health club, Nemita Spa by Lilawadee, and boutique shops at the arcade. Enhanced with stunning views from private balconies, an overnight stay at this 5-star accommodation never seems enough.
A variety of dining choices, from morning to late evening meals, is possible. At ‘The Emporia Restaurant,’ continental, Asian and Thai cuisines are all-day offered in a cosy environment. ‘Tiger Hill Chinese Restaurant’ serves an array of dim sum and other Chinese dishes, while ‘Kohaku Japanese Restaurant’ provides an authentic flavour of Japan.
Beyond all main meals, I had a great time putting my feet up at the ‘Lobby Lounge’ for snacks or high tea and the ‘Pool Bar’ for refreshing bites and drinks. At the end of the day, I directed myself to ‘Club Rizzoli’ where I could sip tempting cocktails and try something new from the sake bar.
WHY I’D RETURN
I have to confess that I had a crush on the hotel staff. Gently smiling all the time, they paid attention to every single detail about my booking, arranging everything perfectly and smoothly. They usually made polite conversation and gave helpful suggestions to all my queries.
