Forests, wineries and farms are primarily noted for things to do at the iconic Khao Yai National Park. However, staying peacefully among the nature vibes also sounds perfect for a weekend break.
Just a two-hour drive from Bangkok, I had a good chance to meet with the touch of the nature, harmonising with trendy architectural design at Botanica. Upon my arrival, the small yet stylish lobby invited me to sit down and showed a glimpse of lush garden that would be surrounding my sleep tonight.
‘Incredibly spacious’ are the first words I would use to describe the room here. Even the studios host a 49-square-metre living area so there is no doubt about the grandeur of the 118-square-metre two-bedroom suites.
White colour and wooden furnishings take credit for providing a feeling of vastness, added to the expanding balcony, on which an outdoor bathtub becomes a splendid indulgence. A choice of views including mountains, the valley, and the resort gardens and pool are displayed through an enormous picture window, while a plunge pool is optional for the studios to top up a dreamy stay.
Leaving the room, I found two swimming pools, fitness centre, and restaurant within cosy walking range. But I would say the secluded library surprised me most. It was a great tranquil place to settle down with a good book or magazine, recognising how quickly a glorious afternoon passed once the twilight presented itself through the floor- to-ceiling window.
The main Tempo restaurant provides a variety of delectable international and Thai cuisines, snacks and drinks served all day. My dinner was extraordinary here when a BBQ, accompanied by a glass of premium wine, was catered to an outdoor candle-lit table under the twinkling stars. A toast in an enchanting lounge, overlooking the pool and mountains, was one of the superb moments during an enjoyable holiday; One-up Bar is definitely the place for that.
WHY I’D RETURN
The newly-launched entertaining hub, Scenical World, hosted by the resort, is hailing me back. I dream of floating along thrilling sliders in Splash World or screaming on exciting rides at Life Park. That must be the most arousing mountain holiday ever!
