It’s thus a blast once Amari Phuket brings the authentic taste of Italy to the shores of Patong.
La Gritta, designed and furnished in a simple, elegant way, offers both indoor and outdoor seating with stunning views of Patong Bay. Native chef Patrizia Battolu caters the finest Italian cuisine, starting the sumptuous meal with fascinating appetisers: ‘Crostino’ – grilled Ciabatta bread topped with Thai sardines, roasted capsicum, flat parsley and olive oil. The dishes are not too heavy to ruin the following courses, yet not too light to lure your appetite.
Continuing with a butternut squash ‘Vellutata di Zucca’ looks like a brilliant idea: the recommended soup, added with spicy shrimps and roasted almonds. Do not rush this opulent time as the starters have only just begun. ‘Fettuccine al Nero di Seppia’ – black-inked fettuccini pasta with tiger prawns cooked in spicy tomato sauce – comes at the top of the chef’s suggestion.
Then, the highlight points to the main dish: mellow ‘Snow Fish’ grilled with broccoletti and roasted pistachios, topped with green olives and marinara sauce. ‘Torta Caprese’, dark chocolate mousse matched with Gelato, turns out to be the best conclusion of this memorable moment.
Apart from the eatery, the stylish La Gritta Bar boasts an impressive collection of premium wines, creative cocktails, aperitifs, digestives and spirits, enhanced with traditional Italian tapas. This is the perfect place for sundowners to enjoy a favourite drink flow and unceasingly delightful playlist, especially when the sun sets or the moon rises over the bay.
