Excellent news for fans of Hong Kong animations and comics. Ani-Com Park@Harbour “FUN” is a new selfie-themed park that’s just opened in Hong Kong. It’s located amongst the historical and artistic attractions of Golden Bauhinia Square in Wan Chai district, and is supported by the Tourism Commission to promote the Hong Kong animations and comics (ani-com) sector, and to augment local attractions. Let’s check it out.
Ani-Com Park@Harbour “FUN” showcases 30 life-size sculptures of famous characters in Hong Kong ani-com including Master Q, Cloud, Wang Xiao Hu, Panda-a-Panda and Ding Ding Penguin. The characters are positioned in scenes that reflect traditional local lifestyle, such as playing Mahjong or hopscotch, and sitting on a tram. Visitors are welcome to get up close and to snap selfies with them. Under each character are inscriptions for those keen to learn more about the stories behind them.
Be one of the first to enjoy this new landmark. Even if you’re not a big fan of Hong Kong ani-com, this park promises fun and friendliness for those who are young at heart. And while you are there don’t miss Comix Home Base, a unique art community, on neighbouring Mallory Street and “Toys” Street on Tai Yuen Street. Both have inspired many of Hong Kong’s young-at-heart and/or creative souls, so let yourself become inspired by these kingdoms of imagination as well.
