AMATARA RESORT & WELLNESS

SETTING THE SCENE

Serenity on Cape Panwa, Amatara Resort & Wellness stands above the Andaman Sea with the sense of a secret retreat from the outside world. Passing the gate to the wooden lobby, the first thing my eyes met was the resort’s two signature wooden Thai pavilions by the pool with the great sea view as a background. As across the lobby, I was surrounded by the different shades of blue from the pool, sea, and sky.

GETTING COMFORTABLE

I arrived at a villa where the sea seems to be within reach of the bedroom’s windows. The bedroom is spacious with a space for a set of Thai-style sofas and small tables relaxing enough for sunrise- and sunset-watching. Opening the rear door of the bedroom, a private outdoor pool is only two steps away.

As the pool also faces the ocean, floating in it is another way to appreciate the grand scenery with a magically secluded atmosphere. Another point I really love about this villa was that the bathroom can be accessed directly from the pool. The white round tub is located in the middle of the round bathroom in white and beige colours – plus the prepared bath salt was quite an option to lure me to the tub.

DINING OPTIONS

My night was well spent at The Grill Lounge with a sea breeze, then I moved inside to The Grill where a full-course dinner was waiting. From soft baked bread, juicy beef, to delicate sweets, I was spoilt with every dish before coming back to a healthy dining on the next day at The Retreat.

The meal here was milder both in oil and seasoning which gave a different delectable taste with the natural flavours from well-selected ingredients. But having breakfast in The Restaurant every morning made my healthy plan failed by ending up for a plate of Traditional Eggs Benedict or Poached Farm Eggs with Tasmanian Salmon.

WHY I’D RETURN

The resort was one of the best places to recharge the life energy, from the choices of food to relaxation. Without going outside of the hotel, I could feel like time somehow stopped and tranquillity was the best part of the stay. With a little assistance of massages and yoga offered by a land of wellness and spa, my trip to this incomparable escape was wholly completed.
