SETTING THE SCENE
I was given the chance to stay at a hotel operated by Centara, the Centara Grand Phratamnak Pattaya, located in the south of the city. Set within the town area, the hotel is close but not connected to the shoreline. With its contemporary design, it offers an easy access to Pattaya’s finest golf club, the Central Festival Department Store, and Jomtien Beach.
The hotel boasts 165 rooms, suites, and family residences – all well equipped with amenities you can expect from a top-class hotel. No sea views are offered unless you stay in the Ocean Vista Rooms and Suites. The Fendi furniture, smart electricity control panels, and the glistening marble floor are worth its price. The rooftop swimming pool and the fitness centre are venues which you should check out.
Food at the hotel comes in a variety of selections. You can have breakfast at the chic ‘Oceana’ – a buffet style restaurant serving Thai-international food. You certainly won’t miss it, what with its stunning shark tank in the background. For more exclusive dining, ‘Ruffino Restaurant’, is a hidden gem. Located on the rooftop, the restaurant is home to many marvellous Italian dishes. Personally, I enjoy the mysterious dark atmosphere and the neon-blue jellyfish tank. Wine drinkers are in for a treat, with their hundreds of wines to choose from. The relaxing ‘Breezel’ is an ideal place for drinks and snacks. Behind the restaurant lies the beach where guests can get a coupons for complimentary sunbeds and towels.
WHY I’D RETURN
Lovely service. Great food, especially at the Ruffino. The hotel’s dining outlets are the main attraction for me.
