A theme or amusement park should be part of any trip aboard as it is out-of-the-ordinary entertainment where family and friends can share many care-free moments together.

Malaysia is in the lead with theme parks in Asia, and will soon be launching another ten. We’ve taken a peek at them and think you should start booking your flight to Malaysia!

1# 20th Century Fox World Genting, Pahang

The world’s sole movie-inspired theme park will give you rib-tickling fun side-by-side beloved characters from legendary 20th Century Fox movies and cartoons such as ‘Ice Age’, ‘Life of Pi’, ‘Alien vs. Predator’ and ‘Night at the Museum’. You’ll feel like you’re in one gigantic movie theatre.

2# Upin and Ipin Theme Park, Sepang

Upin and Ipin, those lovable cartoon animations from Disney Channel Asia, are the main theme at this theme park with its more Malaysia-influenced setting.

3# Ubisoft Theme Park, Kuala Lumpur

If you love video games, this is where you belong. The video games giant Ubisoft is creating a RPG-simulation theme park which you navigate through as one of the famous characters in their video games, such as Assassin’s Creed and Tom Clancy’s The Division.


4# Movie Animation Park Studio (MAPS), Ipoh

You’ll spend all day at Asia’s first animation theme park, which will offer over 40 lively attractions divided into six zones: Animation Square, DreamWorks, Smurf, Stunt Legends, Boboiboy and Megamind.


5# Langkawi Eco Theme Park, Langkawi Island

In keeping with Langkawi’s lush nature and many outdoor activities, this theme park will offer an ‘Immersive Omnidome 3D Flight’ during which you’ll get to see the whole island with a bird’s eye view. The park also offers a boutique hotel and shopping mall.


6# Splash Park Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan

To cool off, head to the latest water park near Dickson beach. Enjoy the 350m. long ‘lazy river’, sand pools, interactive water fountains and also the big variety of dining options.

7# Jurassic Park, Malacca

The dinosaurs have been brought back to life! Experience the age of hunting – and being hunted – of millenniums ago during a thrilling walk amongst 200 life-like dinosaurs operated by electronic and hydraulic systems.

8# Sea World, Malacca

Renowned aquarium operator Sea World is opening a franchise in Malacca. Enjoy a spine-tingling walk through the enormous transparent underwater tunnel with aquatic animals, including sharks, swimming close all around you. Also enjoy the scheduled shows with trained dolphins and sea lions.

9# Eco Marine Theme Park, Malacca

Situated on a long Malacca coastline facing Singapore, the highlight will be a jaw-dropping water fountain and laser show that will be the largest show of its kind in Asia.


10# Ocean Quest Marine Theme Park & Ocean Splash Water Park, Johor Bahr

This park will have two zones. The first will be a conservation aquarium where you can observe, and learn about, almost-extinct marine creatures. The other will be an amusement waterpark offering a wave-making pool, cascades of sliders, and many more water features.
